Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™

Daring Greatly™ was created to focus on developing shame resilience skills and a courage practice of wholehearted living that transforms the way we Live, Love, Parent, and Lead.

Rising Strong™ is based on the physics of vulnerability. If we are brave often enough, we will fall. This Curriculum focuses on what it takes to get back up after the fall. Owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Challenge can be our greatest call to courage and a life of wholehearted living.

In my individual work with clients, I combine parts of the Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™ curriculum to help clients enhance their learning and develop shame resilience skills in between sessions.

Who is Brené Brown?

This work is based on the work of Dr. Brené Brown Ph.D., LMSW, a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent many years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. Her groundbreaking research has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN and Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday. Her work is transforming the individual, marriages, families, and the work environment. The concepts are powerful because they are tapping into what we were all profoundly and deeply created for… love and belonging. Dr. Brené Brown is the author of Braving the Wilderness (2017), Rising Strong (2015), Daring Greatly (2012), The Gifts of Imperfection (2010), and I Thought It was Just Me (2007).

Brené’s 2010 TEDx Houston talk, The Power of Vulnerability (first video below) is one of the top ten most viewed talks in the world with over 11 million viewers. She also gave the closing talk at the 2012 TED conference where she talked about shame, courage, and innovation. Listen to it in the second video below.
